Fresh harvested for the 2011 growing season.  Pacific Northwest grown Western Sword Fern ‘Polystichum Munitum’ spores offered by Surf Monkey Coconut are a fun and long lasting terrarium project for growing indoors.  Ideally grown in an office or kitchen setting, a fern nursery may be grown in any type of lidded container.  With just a few steps of planning and preparation, you will be on your way to having a beautiful, living, self-contained terrarium in no time! 

The slow germination cycle of the spores will make this a perfect easy start-up, low maintenance nursery terrarium that lasts 6 months, up to several years before transplanting is necessary.

This Pacific NW native, (adult Sword Fern), is acclimated for climate zones 3-8 however will manage in other temperate, sufficiently moist & partly shady locations.
